Field Trips

Field Trips

In the interest of increasing the understanding of geology in general, and Nelson Region geology in particular, we have been:

• leading half day and longer field trips
• providing short talks and lectures
• compiling background information

These have included:

• field trips to the Nelson Boulder Bank
• Richmond foothill fossil expeditions
• caving trips Source of the Riwaka River
• Harwoods Hole (Abel Tasman National Park)
• visits to major engineering projects being undertaken locally (Nelson Marina expansion, Stoke by-pass, Whangamoa / Spooner Range highway reconstruction)
• and others...
