In the interest of increasing the understanding of geology in general, and Nelson Region geology in particular, we have been:
• leading half day and longer field trips
• providing short talks and lectures
• compiling background information
These have included:
• field trips to the Nelson Boulder Bank • Richmond foothill fossil expeditions • caving trips Source of the Riwaka River • Harwoods Hole (Abel Tasman National Park) • visits to major engineering projects being undertaken locally (Nelson Marina expansion, Stoke by-pass, Whangamoa / Spooner Range highway reconstruction) • and others...
